I am thrilled and honored to have recently received the AFHEA (Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy) qualification. This achievement marks a significant milestone in my professional journey and brings with it a sense of pride and accomplishment. It is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and commitment I have invested in my teaching practice to meet the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF), as well as my continuous quest for personal and professional growth.

The journey towards AFHEA has been a transformative one, encompassing a range of experiences and learning opportunities. It has allowed me to reflect on my teaching philosophy, critically analyze my pedagogical approaches, and explore innovative strategies to enhance the learning experience for my students. The AFHEA process has encouraged me to engage in self-reflection, fostering a deep understanding of my strengths and areas for improvement.

One of the most rewarding aspects of pursuing the AFHEA qualification has been the opportunity to connect with a vibrant community of like-minded educators. Through discussions, workshops, and collaborative projects, I have gained valuable insights and perspectives from colleagues across diverse disciplines. These interactions have broadened my horizons, enriched my teaching practice, and inspired me to push the boundaries of my own creativity.

Receiving the AFHEA qualification has ignited a renewed passion for teaching within me. It has reaffirmed my belief in the transformative power of education and its ability to shape lives. I am excited to apply the knowledge and skills gained through this process to create inclusive, engaging, and effective learning environments for my students. The AFHEA journey has equipped me with a robust toolkit of teaching strategies, assessment techniques, and inclusive practices that will undoubtedly enhance the educational experiences of those I teach.

As I reflect on my AFHEA journey, I am grateful for the support and guidance provided by super mentor (Prof. Sally Day), colleagues (Dr. David Selviah, Dr. Alejandra Beghelli Zapata), UCL Arena, and the Higher Education Academy itself. Their commitment to excellence in teaching and learning has been instrumental in shaping my professional growth. I am inspired to continue my journey of lifelong learning, seeking further opportunities for development and making a positive impact on the lives of my students.

Receiving the AFHEA qualification is a moment of personal triumph and professional validation. It signifies my dedication to the art of teaching and my commitment to ongoing improvement. I am eager to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, armed with the knowledge, skills, and recognition that the AFHEA qualification represents.
